Iran documentary ‘Lotus’ has been set to be screened at the 25th edition of Sheffield International Documentary Festival in the UK.
The flick is to attend the competition section of the British film event.
The documentary narrates the story of an old woman who has been waiting for 12 years to get a permit to enter an island. She wants to see the only resident who lives there.
The documentary has so far succeeded to attend the National competition section and the Shahid Avini Award Competition section of the 11th Iran International Documentary Film Festival of Cinema Verite.
Founded in 1994, The Sheffield International Documentary Festival is an international documentary festival and Marketplace held annually in Sheffield the UK.
The Festival includes film screenings, interactive and virtual reality exhibitions, talks & sessions, Marketplace & Talent for the funding and distribution of documentaries and development of filmmakers. The event is UK's biggest documentary festival and the third largest in the world.
The 2018 edition of the festival is slated for June 7-12, 2018.
